Radiation Data

Contains the state of the soil surface as an interface between the atmosphere and the soil model.

The surface data files are produced each main output interval (default: 60 min) and represent the general state of the surface at the given model time.

Variable list

This list represents the general variable structure. The actual sequence of the variables might differ but the same information is stored in total.

Variable Unit Description
Index Surface Grid - k grid index in which the surface is located (=0 if no DEM is used)
Soil Profile Type - Integer Index to the soil profile type used. An additional .SLDX file is generated to be used with LEONARDO to visiualise this information
z Topo m Terrain height (relative to reference level)
Surface inclination ° Inclination of surface if a DEM is used
Surface exposition ° Surface exposition (azimuth) if a DEM is used
Shadow Flag - =1 if surface is shaded (max 2% of direct radiation), 0 otherwise
T Surface °C Absolute surface temperature
T Surface Diff. K Difference surface temperature to reference surface
T Surface Change K/h Heating/Cooling rate of surface
q Surface g/kg Spec. Humidity of surface air layer (=air humidity if surface is sealed)
uv above Surface m/s Horizontal wind speed in layer directly above the surface
Sensible heat flux W/m² Sensible Heat Flux H (positive if from surface towards air)
Exchange Coeff. Heat m²/s Turbulent surface exchange coefficient for heat
Latent heat flux W/m² Latent Heat Flux LE (positive if from surface towards air, 0 for sealed surfaces)
Soil heat Flux W/m² Soil Heat Flux G (positve if directed towards the next soil layer)
Q_Sw Direct W/m² Sum of shortwave radiation max available
Q_Sw Direct Horizontal W/m² Direct shortwave radition received on a horizontal surface
Q_Sw Diffuse Horizontal W/m² Diffuse shortwave radition received on a horizontal surface
Q_Sw Reflected Received Horizontal W/m² Reflected shortwave radition received on a horizontal surface
Lambert Factor - Relative insolation for the actual surface expostion and solar angle
